Drawers are another hazard for small children. Fingers are easily pinched and trapped. As with so many other areas of the home safety features may need to be incorporated such as drawer locks in order to keep your child safe. As well as the safety features of coffee tables themselves there is also the important consideration of what is placed on the coffee table. Whilst a dining table might be out of reach for small children a coffee table is the perfect height for tiny fingers to investigate.
Size. Make sure the height of the table is enough for your needs. Ideally it should be a couple of inches lower than the seat of the couch. Moreover the standard height of a coffee table is around 16 inches which is ideal for most of the couches found in houses nowadays.
Today round glass coffee tables remain popular largely because they allow a room to remain open looking while still being a statement piece. That's because coffee tables with glass tops or even tops and sides can break the mold in terms of defining what a coffee table should be.
