Charlotte Independence to host Swansea City A.F.C. of the English Premier League

The United Soccer League’s Charlotte Independence will host Swansea City A.F.C. Swansea’s U.S. The match will take place at Ramblewood Stadium with kickoff slated for 7:30 p.m. “It is truly an honor to host Swansea City at our new and beautiful soccer-specific Ramblewood Stadium.”

According to the Independence, following a three-day private pre-sale for Season-Ticket Holders and team partners, tickets will go on sale to the general public at 10:00am on Friday, June 10.

For the Independence, it will be the first contest with an EPL opponent having joined the USL as an expansion club prior to the 2015 season. “This game offers them the ability to measure themselves on field with EPL players, as well as enjoy the atmosphere surrounding a big game.”

“The English Premier League is considered by some to be the best sports league in the world,” said Independence General Manager Tom Engstrom, in a release. in 2012 and 2014 when they visited Colorado and California in 2012 before returning to Chicago, Milwaukee and Minnesota two years later. This year Swansea will begin their trip abroad before a week-long training camp in Washington DC, followed by the Independence match on July 13 and a second contest with the Richmond Kickers on July 16.
