Duval Deniaud. Coffee Table. January 12th , 2018.
In the 1950s coffee tables were extremely chic and every house had at least one if not several. Few living rooms were without these tables and often if there was a family room or playroom the sofa grouping there would have one too. While traditional wood tables have always been popular round glass coffee tables really came into their own during this period as modern and contemporary furnishings came back into fashion.
Wooden coffee tables are also fantastic pieces to have in your home. Often they have more of a rustic look and look good with a neutral or earthy decor. You may have to worry about messing up the stain or paint on a wood table and sometimes they may chip. One major downside to a wooden table is that if you break it you have to purchase a whole new table. With a glass table you could always just get a new piece of glass for the top.
Many small children have a particular fascination for coffee tables spending hours investigating the treasures that they can hold. It is therefore important to think before placing hot drinks glassware china ornaments nuts or anything else that could be a hazard on the surface. Although all of these factors do require some time and consideration the benefits of keeping your child safe far outweigh any time or financial costs involved. Remember: where children are concerned safety is always the number one priority.
Indeed it is not only living rooms that have benefited from these stylish centrepieces. They are frequently used in boardrooms and offices to give high powered executives the luxury they are accustomed to when taking coffee with fellow executives and provide great taste to any executive office in which they are used.
